An drunk and unlicensed Orange County man, allegedly driving with drugs, is accused of fleeing to the woods after police pulled him over.

On Friday around 12:30 a.m., a Monroe police officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 white Ford Focus in the area of Freeland Street and Pavek Circle for an alleged violation.

During the traffic stop the driver, 28-year-old Michael Serrano-Brown of Monroe is accused of fleeing into the woods near the Hidden Creek Condominiums.

Monroe officers, with the assistance of the Village of Harriman Police Department, gave chase and set up a perimeter. Serrano-Brown was found in the woods a short time later.

A search of the car found marijuana, police say. Serrano-Brown was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor, resisting arrest, misdemeanors, and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Serrano-Brown was turned over to the Orange County Sheriff's Office on $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond. Serrano-Brown is due back in Monroe Village Court later this month.
