State Police arrested a Cornwall man for assault after he allegedly stabbed a man multiple times in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the Village of Cornwall.

Police have not released the name of the victim or the suspect. The suspect was charged with 1st-degree assault. More details will hopefully emerge Thursday afternoon when State Police holds a press conference on the incident.

According to Cornwall on The Hudson, the stabbing took place in the driveway of a house on Idlewild Avenue in Cornwall-on-Hudson.

Police were seen searching for the knife used in the crime.

The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh with non-life threatening injuries.
