Police say a Dutchess County man tried to hit cops with a table and a large tree branch.

On July 3, Town of Poughkeepsie police responded to the Moutain Brook apartment complex on Innis Avenue in Poughkeepsie for a report of a resident's tires being slashed. The response was following a month-long investigation into ongoing criminal mischief at the apartment complex, police say.

Upon arrival, police found 34-year-old Tyler Borzowski of Poughkeepsie near the scene. When officers tried to arrest Borzowski he threw a wooden table at them and later swung a large tree branch at officers, police say.

Borzowski was placed into custody without anyone getting injured, according to Town of Poughkeepsie police.

Borzowski was charged with three counts of felony criminal mischief, attempted assault, a felony, two counts of criminal mischief and resisting arrest, misdemeanors.

He was remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $20,000 cash and $40,000 bond.
