Days after a Hudson Valley man was accused of breaking into a church, he allegedly broke into another church, took off his clothes, drank sacred wine and urinated inside the local church.

According to Saugerties police, on Wednesday around 3 a.m., 25 year-old Nathaniel H. Schultz of Saugerties was captured on video entering the Chapel and then Sacristy at Saint Mary’s of the Snow Catholic Church in the Village of Saugerties.

Once inside the Sacristy, Schultz is seen removing his clothing and then prostrating himself in front of vestments utilized during church services. Schultz then opened a bottle of religious wine and drank from it several times, police say.

Later in the video, Schultz is allegedly seen urinating into a trash can inside of the sacristy.

Shultz remained in the sacristy for about four hours before he was seen by a church congregation member who arrived at the chapel to prepare for morning mass.

Shultz fled the scene prior to police arrival. He was arrested by police detectives a short time later and charged with burglary, a felony, and a misdemeanor for petit larceny.

Shultz was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and released on his own recognizance upon the issuance of an order or protection on behalf of Saint Mary’s Church.

Shutlz was previously arrested on burglary charges for allegedly breaking into the Saugerties Reformed Church on April 17.

Shultz entered the church during the early morning hours and damaged a day care center, police say. Shultz was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and was released on his own recognizance upon the issuance of a court order of protection.
