A homeless couple is behind bars after police say they broke into an Ulster County home and attempted to steal a number of items.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office reports 39-year-old Angela Fusco and Kyle Keller, 44, broke into a home in the Town of Kingston. The pair searched the home for valuables and allegedly stole jewelry, credit cards, gift cards, coins and prescription drugs.

The couple was still at the scene when authorities arrived. They were taken into custody and police say they were in possession of controlled substances, weapons and drug paraphernalia.

Keller was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny, misdemeanors.

Fusco was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana, misdemeanors.

Both were arraigned in Town of Rosendale Justice Court. Fusco was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 secured bond. Keller was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond.
