State Police say a foreign national, living in the Hudson Valley, stole over $7,000 worth of property from three victims that employed her.

44-year-old Laura V. Anson, of Saugerties, was charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony and 5th-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Kingston were investigating thefts from several residences in the Town of Woodstock. Police allege that Anson, a personal aid to the three victims, was in possession of several of the reported stolen items.

Police say Anson was employed by the three victims to run errands, walk pets, and clean their homes. The recovered items, which were allegedly found in Anson’s Saugerties home, exceeded over $7,000.

Anson, a foreign national, was arraigned at the Town of Saugerties Court and released on the condition that she surrender her passport to the court.

State Police are requesting that any other victims or witnesses to these or others crimes committed by Anson to contact the State Police Barracks at Kingston at 845-338-170
