State Police say a woman who was driving over 4 times the legal limit of intoxication crashed her vehicle on the Taconic with her two young children in the back seat.

On Friday around noon, New York State Police from Hawthorne responded to a 2-car property damage auto-collision on the Taconic State Parkway. Police allege that 35-year-old Adriana M. Pentz, from Sleepy Hollow, was intoxicated and driving the car with her two children, ages 1 and 3, in the back seat.

Pentz provided a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .36%, more than 4 times the legal limit of intoxication. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, under Leandra's Law, a felony.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Mount Pleasant court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bail bond. Pentz is due back in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on February 4, 2016.

State Police did not say if anyone was injured.
