The Police played a legendary show in Poughkeepsie in the fall of 1978, one of their first in America before going on to become one of the biggest bands on the planet.

In a recently posted video to YouTube, Police drummer Stewart Copeland recalls the gig, insinuating many people have lied about actually going to the show. The truth is there were just a few people in attendance that night and several of them worked here on Pendell Rd. for our sister station, a two year old WPDH.

Copeland sets the tone for the evening; snow coming down outside, football game on the TV and just four people in the audience. We're not sure if he's counting the bartender at all.

A blog on Sting's website provides further insight into the legendary evening at The Chance in Poughkeepsie. We think Frank should bring back the pinball machines.
