Saugerties Police arrested a registered sex offender who gave a fictitious address. Police allege the man gave an Ulster County address but was really living elsewhere in the Hudson Valley.

In late January, the Saugerties Police Detective Division began an investigation into the residence of registered sex offender, 27-year-old Christopher Arrotta.

According to Saugerties Police, in January Arrotta registered an address within the Town of Saugerties. After a police investigation, officials determined that Arrotta registered a fictitious address and never resided at the address. Arrotta was really living at an apartment in Monticello.

Arrotta was arrested by Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on an active arrest warrant from the Town of Saugerties Court. He was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.

According to the New York State Sex Offender Registry, in July of 2008, Arrotta was arrested by Malborough Town Police for raping two 14-year-old females and a 15-year-old female.
