Pets of the Week With the Dutchess County SPCA

Meet this week’s Pets of the Week. These animals are looking for loving homes and are available for adoption at the Dutchess County SPCA. If you are interested in any of these animals or would like to see other animals available for adoption, please call 845-452-7722.

Gilbert: 

Meet Gilbert! He is a budgerigar type bird (budgie for short) or more commonly a parakeet. He enjoys listening to music and will whistle along with the words! He also loves to snack on fresh fruit and veggies throughout the day. Are you looking for a new sidekick with some musical talent, then come say Hi to Gilbert today!

Blondie: 

Meet Blondie! Some of her favorite things to do are play with tennis balls and sit on the couch or on your lap. She tends to think she's a lap dog. As much as she loves cuddling on the couch, she also likes to go for a nice walk. If you have a nice strong throwing arm, then Blondie is the gal for you!

Bruno:

Meet Bruno! His ideal day consists of going for a nice long walk on a bright sunny day, playing with his favorite toys and snoring the day away on the couch. If you're looking for your new best friend, Bruno is the perfect match for you!

Burdine:

Burdine is a very sweet, little lady looking for a place to call her own. Her favorite activity is curling up next to you and snoozing the day away. She would be happy to get up and go for a walk, but she would rather climb up on the couch than hike up mountains. Are you looking for a cuddle bug to call your own? Then come on down to meet Burdine!

Cindy:

This brindle beauty is a little shy to start, but before long she will be licking your face and trying to get on your lap. Though Miss Cindy would probably do best as an only pet, she has so much love, energy and sweetness to share.

Sally:

Meet Sally! She is a happy-go-lucky girl who always has a good time no matter who she's with. A perfect day for Sally would include meeting new people, playing fetch in the backyard, then relaxing with you on the couch while you watch TV.

Champ:

Champ, an ultra friendly, super mellow fellow of 9 years with striking good looks! If you're looking for a low-key companion with tons of love to give, he might be the guy for you! Don't let his age fool you: he has tons of personality and lots of zest for life!

Minnie Mouse:

Meet Minnie Mouse, this sweet young girl likes to play hard to get. Minnie Mouse is a little slow to show affection but when she trusts you, believe me the wait was worth it. She purrs so loud it could shake a building. Between her stunningly good looks and her personality she would make anyone the purrfect pet.

Morgan:

Morgan is a beautiful girl that is full of love and affection. She is outgoing when it comes to greeting people or other cats, but her meow makes her seem quite the opposite! Morgan can't get enough of being pet, if you wanted to pet her all day, she would let you. If you're looking for a sweet lap cat that gets along with other cats, Morgan is your girl!

Pippi: 

Meet Pippi this gorgeous girl maybe just a sweet as they come. The saying "Don't judge a book by the cover" seems to fit her well. As you may notice she has a "silly" ear, but that just adds that much more personality to her. This sweet girl will jump right into your lap and start purring the second you meet her. If your looking for an outgoing adult kitty with an awesome personality she's your gal.
