New Wildlife Regulations Proposed for New York in 2017

There are so many great things about living in New York and the beautiful wildlife, that can be found throughout the state, is certainly up there on that list. One of the many things that The New York Department of Environmental Conservation does, is to help manage all of that wildlife in our state which includes hunting, trapping, and fishing policies.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation is looking at making some changes in regards to those regulations in 2017, and they want your opinion. They are interested to know if you have any concerns or comments in regards to the following proposals as they strive to keep hunters and the public informed.

Here are the issues they are looking at for the new year. Prohibiting the feeding of white-tailed deer, requiring permits for certain deer treatment devices,  helping to protect New York deer from Chronic Wasting Disease, removing the special permit currently required to hunt and trap bobcats in the Harvest Expansion Area, and closing the season for the diamondback terrapin.
