The fourth of July is right around the corner and there are a lot of choices for great firework displays including one of my favorites every year in New Paltz.

According to the Daily Freeman, the New Paltz annual Independence Day Celebration is now set for Friday, July 6th, and this year we can expect to see some great fireworks.

There will be plenty of food vendors, some great live music this year with bands like Mark Rust, Hudson Valley Bluegrass Express, and Soul City Groove, plus they will have bouncy houses, body art, and face painting for the kids.

The celebration will take place at the Ulster County Fairgrounds, located at 249 Libertyville Road in New Paltz with gates opening at 5 p.m. Admission is FREE with music to start at 6 p.m. and the fireworks to kick off after dusk.

If you are planning to go to the celebration make sure you bring a chair or a blanket to sit on and if you need more information on this great event you can call (845) 255-0604, ext. 126.
