Today we remember those who were lost that tragic day 13 years ago. We all have a story of where we were, who we were with. My story:

I can remember exactly what I was doing. I was doing a morning show on Rhythm 94.3. going about the show as normal until our news person Dawn Spicer came in to tell me that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. My first reaction was not thinking it was terrorism but, "Oh boy someone screwed up."

I went on the air and gave the story and then went into our newsroom to see if anything other info was available and that was when we saw the 2nd plane hit the other tower...and right then I knew things would never be the same!

I can remember Dawn screaming out and feeling hopeless. I went back to my studio and cut the song off that was playing to get the information out as quickly as possible. Once I closed the mic my thoughts went to my friend John who was a stock broker and worked in the towers. Is he OK? God I thought, I hope so. After trying to call him in his office with no luck, I finally got in touch with his wife and she was..just in SHOCK. I did find out that John was OK a few hours later as he got out and ran all the way home to Brooklyn. My story ended with my friend being OK and I thank God for that, but so many family's didn't have the same fate and for THEM I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA
