Here's just a few of the many things going on in country music this week in addition to the CMA awards.

Maddie & Tae made a lot of noise when their first single "Girl in a Country song" was released. This week their debut EP comes out featuring their debut hit.

Chase Rice's new favorite color is platinum. He just got a platinum sales plaque for his debut hit, "Ready Set Roll."

Blake was just profiled on CBS's 60 Minutes. He took the show back to his native Ada, OK, for an in-depth talk about his childhood. Here he talks about the inspiration for "Over you".

Cole Swindell couldn't believe he was nominated for a CMA New Artist of the year award and says the only thing that would make Wednesday night's CMA Awards sweeter would be having his mother with him as his date. Cole explains, "She's having back surgery in the first of December,  and we're gonna get her back better. 'Cause these are the kinds of things I want her to be -- she's about all I got left family-wise besides some brothers and a grandmother."
