When twenty five year old Trent Harmon won the Fifteenth and Final Season of American Idol I am sure he had lots of ideas about his first single, especially after the chatter around his song "Falling" that Keith Urban penned. (See story below.)  His country roots promised us a cool new country artist.

Two weeks ago Trent released his first single "There's A Girl" and I think he is definitely on his way, Trent is cool new country! I am happy to say I am not disappointed. He is working on his first album for Big Machine Records and if this song is any indication of what's to come, I think Trent could easily follow previous American Idol winner Carrie Underwood to the top of the country charts.

Born in Mississippi, Trent was raised on the family farm and waited tables at his family's restaurant. Two things he attributes his to establishing his strong work ethic. Which might be why he has a new single and a movie sound track song out at the same time.

For all you animated movie fans Trent has delivered for you as well. He was chosen to sing Gary Wright's "Dream Weaver" for the movie "Ice Age Collision Course" released this past weekend in theaters. He knocks this song it through the "Ice", give it a listen.

Trent's winning song on American Idol "Falling" that was penned by Keith Urban caused some chatter back in May. Bonus story about "Falling" (Caution: it contains sexual content).
