Police say a Marlboro man assumed the identity of a relative in order to obtain a financial benefit.

New York State Police at Monroe arrested Anthony Adolino, 44, for 2nd-degree identity theft, a class E felony, petit larceny, unlawful possession of personal identification, both class A misdemeanors.

Adolino was given an appearance ticket and released. He’s due to return to the Town of Highlands Court on April 27.
