Man in Dutchess County Wanted in Mexico

An undocumented resident living in Dutchess County was found and arrested when local police say he was wanted by authorities in Mexico.

Thursday around 1:00 p.m., the Rhinebeck Police Department assisted the Department of Homeland Security US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Schenectady Police Department Capital District Safe Streets Task Force Gang Unit in the arrest of 24-year-old Juan Macario Martinez,from Rhinebeck, NY.

Martinez was arrested on a felony warrant for extradition out of the United States. Police say he was wanted in Mexico for gang-related activity.

Martinez, an undocumented resident, was processed at the Village of Rhinebeck Police Department and turned over to Homeland Security and the Capital District Safe Streets Task Force Gang Unit.
