A man imprisoned in Ulster County is facing more charges for allegedly punching an officer in the face.

Saturday, members of State Police in Ellenville were advised by the Ulster Correctional Facility that a Correction Officer was assaulted by Matthew Jacobs. The 26-year-old from Queens was recently transferred to Ulster Correctional Facility from Rikers Island.

Jacobs is accused of punching a Correction Officer in the face. The officer suffered cut to the in the lip.

Jacobs was charged with assault, a class D felony. He’s due in the Town of Wawarsing Court at a future date.
