A man who crashed his car while driving drunk on Thanksgiving Eve with a child in his car was found guilty.

On Thursday in Putnam County Court, a jury found Clayton Edmonds guilty of aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class E felony.

On Nov. 22, 2017, the day before Thanksgiving, three 911 calls or erratic driving were made to Westchester 911 as Edmonds drove from the Saw Mill Parkway onto I-684.

Shortly after, Edmonds hit the guardrail on I-684 multiple times and swerved across all lanes of traffic, officials say.

Members of the Westchester County Police and New York State Police pursued Edmonds and he was pulled over after the driver’s side tire came off his vehicle past the Hardscrabble Road exit in Putnam County.

Edmonds was driving with an 8-year-old child in his car, according to the Putnam County District Attorney's Office.

Edmonds smelled like alcohol, had bloodshot watery eyes and impaired motor coordination, police say.

He failed DWI field sobriety tests and then refused to take a chemical breath test to determine his blood-alcohol level, officials say.

According to the Putnam County District Attorney's Office, Edmonds has seven prior convictions. He's scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 24.
