Man Charged With Violently Murdering Hudson Valley Millionaire
A man has been charged with murder two years after a Hudson Valley woman was found brutally beaten to death inside her home.
In Nov. of 2015, Lois Colley was found beaten to death inside her North Westchester home. The 83-year-old was found dead in the laundry room of her 300-acre estate in North Salem.
Esdras Anibal Marroquin Gomez, a former employee of Colley, was charged with second-degree murder following a two year investigation into the murder.
"The murder scene was horrendous," Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino said. "From our evaluation, we believe the murder weapon was a home fire extinguisher, and she was brutally assaulted."
Following Colley’s death, Gomez fled to Guatemala and later Mexico, reports ABC 7. After Mexican authorities deported him, Gomez was arrested by the FBI in Miami.
Police believe Gomez had some type of dispute with the family.
Colley was the wife of millionaire Euguene Colley, who earned his fortune operating over 100 McDonald’s franchises in the New York area. Her son, Millbrook resident Bruce Colley, gained notoriety after he allegedly had an affair with Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s then wife, Kerry Kennedy. The Kennedy/Colley relationship is believed to be the reason why Cuomo and Kennedy divorced.
Gomez is being held without bail.
