Man Charged With DWAI Twice in One Day

A man who just couldn't get enough of driving while on drugs, was arrested twice in one day for DWAI, according to police. 

Police responded to a rollover accident in the early hours Thursday in Stony Point. Following an investigation, Zachary Morrell, 20, of West Haverstraw, NY was arrested for DWAI (Drugs) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Morrell was processed and released with appearance ticket.

A female passenger was also arrested for Possession of Marijuana, after she was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained in the accident, according to police.

Later that same day, police responded to a report of an erratic driver. Police located the vehicle and following an initial investigation, Zachary Morrell was arrested and charged once again with DWAI (Drugs) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, according to a press release.

Morrell was sent to Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. He is due back in court at a later date.
