Richard J. Chase, 50, of Amherst, NH was arrested for pointing a gun at another person.

On Monday just before 10 p.m., the Village of Fishkill Police Department received a 911 call from Flory’s Mobil gas station on Schuyler Boulevard. The caller said that a man in a vehicle pointed a gun at another person.

When police arrived they found a man who matched the description sitting in a parked car. Police then gave the man numerous commands to exit the car, which he failed to comply.

The man was seen, while in the car, reaching for unknown items on the front passenger seat, police say.  After some time, the man exited his car and placed into custoday.

Police searched the car and found three fully loaded rifles and additional ammunition

After the person who called 911 positively identified Chase, he was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Chaese was arraigned in the Village of Wappingers justice court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,00 cash bail, $100,000 bond.
