Lots of Flavors But a Bad First Date Food
I don't think it is possible to say exactly how many flavors of chicken wings there are in the world. I don't think you could even say how many flavors exist in the Hudson Valley. The obvious flavors are Buffalo and BBQ but the not so obvious include Ancho-Peach and Soy-Honey. Yes, those last two are real. According to a link I found from the Food Network there are at least 50 different recipes and they include all the flavors I mentioned aboved.
With this many flavors you can imagine that we also consume a lot of wings. In an article I found online from the New York Post they estimate the American meat eaters will ingest on average approximately 18,000 wings in their lifetime. The same article also mentions that 57 percent of Americans would not eat them on a first date. Apparently they are too messy. Another fun wing fact according multiple sources is that we as a nation eat over a billion wings on Super Bowl Sunday.
So we have a way you can get closer to your 18,000 goal, Be at Wing Wars 2018 January 20th at the Ramada Inn in Fishkill from 5p to 9p. Live music, beverages throughout and of course the best variety of wings in the Hudson Valley.
