Donations can be made today (2/20) at the Red Hook Elks Lodge.

I received an email today from a listener asking for help in promoting a blood drive today in Red Hook to benefit a local man that was horribly injured in a snow mobile accident this past weekend.

The mans name is Phil Tillou from Germantown and according to a GoFundMe page set up by a family friend, he was in a serious snowmobiling accident that was so bad he had to be air lifted to a Syracuse hospital.

Once he arrived at the hospital doctors found that Phil had broke both his legs, shattered his pelvic bone, has a broken foot and they are trying to control the bleeding of his artery in his leg.

He has gone through multiple surgeries already and according to a family friend he is still in ICU in Syracuse and is doing a little better, but is still considered very critical, with a lot of surgeries to come and a long road to recovery ahead of him.

With the situation as bad as it is, the folks at the Red Hook Elks Lodge at 7711 Albany Post Rd in Red Hook, have put together a Red Cross blood drive today, Wednesday February 20th from 2-6p.m.

They are looking for anyone with O+ and O- blood types specifically and your donation can go directly to Phil Tillou. If you would like to make a donation to the Tillou family to help with medical expenses, you can do that though their GoFundMe page.
