Tragedy struck Wednesday in Cragsmor as an honorary Volunteer fireman drowned in the fire departments fill pond.

According to the Daily Freeman, Joshua Peters was pronounced dead Wednesday shortly after he was found face down in the Cragsmoor Fire Department’s fill pond. Police are calling the incident as an accidental drowning.

Larry Rosselli of Napanoch and cousin to Joshua Peters told the Daily Freeman, that Peters is believed to have fallen in the water after having a grand mal seizure while mowing a lawn near the pond.

Jousha was a fixture in the Napanoch area. His family owns Peters Market in Napanoch and he could always be seen in the market talking sports.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joshua family and everyone in the community.
