If you know a firefighter, you know that when the call comes you never know what could happen.

Every call brings dangerous situations and that was the case on Monday in Summitville, when the Summitville Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at 89 Summitville Road just after 10:30 p.m.

Summitville Fire Department's 1st Assistant Chief Robert Hufcut told the Times Herald Record that the department was on the scene in less than six minutes after the call came in and that when they arrived they found flames rolling out of the top of the garage.

The Wurtsboro and Bloomingburg fire departments were immediately called in to assist with battling the fire.

All 3 departments battled the blaze and during the fire, 2 firefighters were injured when, first, a power line attached to the roof of the garage burned off and came down on a firefighter and right after that another firefighter manning a truck stepped out onto a charged hose and rolled his ankle.

Both injured firefighters according to Hufcut are doing fine
