The Culture of Comprehensive, Collaborative Cancer Care: Health Quest Cancer Care

Cancer services at Health Quest are provided through both designated centers and individual private practice and employed physician and specialist offices. Its care centers include the Dyson Center for Cancer Care, located at Vassar Brothers Medical Center; the Breast Care Center, located at Northern Dutchess Hospital; and the Wagner Cancer Pavilion, located at Putnam Hospital Center. Services offered at the centers and physician offices fill needs that span the cancer care timeline. Patients can conveniently participate in community screening and education programs. Those with a family history of breast, colon, endometrial, ovarian or pancreatic cancers or melanoma may receive genetics counseling and risk assessments. Patients have access to a wealth of diagnostic services — including dedicated breast imaging, image-guided biopsies and interventional radiologic procedures — and sophisticated treatment techniques such as DIEP Flap Reconstruction surgery, SEED localization, da Vinci robotic surgery, infusion therapy, minimally invasive colorectal surgery and Tomotherapy.

Following an individually tailored plan of the three major cancer therapies — surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology — patients are assisted through recovery with rehabilitative therapies such as lymphedema management and physical therapy, as well as nutritional counseling, a resource library and support groups. Health Quest also provides cancer patients in the Hudson Valley exceptional support services, including access to New York State’s oldest cancer registry and a pet therapy program.
