A large reward is being offered in hopes of finding the person brutally murdered a teen near a Hudson Valley high school.

In the early hours of Friday May 19, 19-year-old James Stevens was shot multiple times on Bush Avenue in the City of Newburgh. 

When police arrived he Stevens was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bush Avenue is three-tenths of a mile from Newburgh Free Academy, according to Google Maps.

New York State Crime Stoppers, acting as a resource for the City of Newburgh Police Department are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the New York State Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-866-313-TIPS (8477) immediately. Callers can remain anonymous. There is no caller ID on the New York State Crime Stoppers hotline phones.
