Kindergarten Mantle at Christy Cottage

I love to decorate our little home, known as Christy Cottage, but my favorite space is the mantle. In fact, I think it may have been the mantle that made me fall in love with our house in the first place. Every month, sometimes with help from my two grandsons, I decorate it either with a color theme, lots of pictures, sentimental items, or whatever we feel like using to celebrate a holiday, birthday, anniversary, or any occasion we want.

This month, we are marking a milestone in our family because our oldest grandson is going to start Kindergarten next month. Go ahead, ask me if I am crying yet.

When I told my husband that I was going to use school supplies for this month's mantle, he looked a little skeptical at first.
