Two Sundays ago while watching the 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards I was taken back when they announced Kiefer Sutherland as a presenter and country singer songwriter. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan, but had no idea he was a singer or a songwriter. Then, call it old age or clutter in the brain, I complete forgot to follow up, until today. Today I received an email from CMT saying that they were debuting Kiefer's new song "Not Enough Whiskey" today. So off to the internet I went to find the song and hopefully the video and guess what I did and it is really cool.

Kiefer recently gave an interview to USA TODAY click here to read the full story and in the interview he describes all the hows and whys that lead him down the road to country music. Kiefer even explains that his voice may not be perfect, but it is my opinion after hearing his new song it fits his style to a tee.

Kiefer also talks about his 26 city tour. This of course led me to look up a local show and guess what I found one, that's the good news, the bad news is it is already sold out. Kiefer will be at Daryl's House in Pawling on May 24th, but we are to late for tickets. But wait good news he is at The Dock in Ithaca and tickets are still available. I also only found tour dates through the end of May so maybe we can hope for another local venue later in the year.

He told USA Today his influences are Johnny Cash, Bob Seger and Kris Kristofferson. I hear it, Kiefer can sing me a country tune anytime. I am a fan. Kiefer's new CD "Down In A Hole" will be on in my car.
