When I found out Miranda Lambert was working on new music, I was pumped. I'm a huge Miranda fan and was ready for something fresh and new. Then "Vice" came out and I knew. I knew the year 2017 would be: The Year of Lambert.

Miranda's 5th studio album "The Weight of These Wings" hit stores today. It's much anticipated after her very public break up with Blake Shelton. Blake has had two tracks that, and if we're being honest, painted Miranda in a bad light. Lambert is not doing any promo for this album letting the music speak for itself.

The album is a double disk feature, one called "The Heart" and the other "The Nerve." I've been listening to the album since I woke up this morning and the songs strike both a nerve and your heart as cheesy as that sounds. "Well- Rested" "Runnin' Just in Case" "Smoking Jacket" and "Pushin' Time"(which features Miranda's current boyfriend Anderson East) all have an emotion to them that I don't think we've heard from Miranda yet. It's refreshing and real.

Of course she has her spunky, feisty songs like "Pink Sunglasses" and "We Should Be Friends." And I'm convinced she wrote "Highway Vagabond" and "Covered Wagon" while at Bethel Woods after her May 2016 show. Such a fun, hippy, Woodstock like vibe to both of those songs.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that "The Weight of These Wings" is Miranda Lambert's best album yet. It's versitile and everything I expected her to come back with. Miranda has stated that this isn't a break up album and after listening I 100% agree. It's an album about life.

The Weight of These Wings is available today.
