It feels like it is all about the awards in January and February. We have had the Golden Globes, The Grammy's and this weekend it's the Oscars. Sunday night live on ABC at 7p it is the 89th Annual Academy Awards hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Hollywood's big night where all the stars come out to see who will walk away with the Golden Man Trophy.

Once again this year my friends and I will be gathered around the TV with BBQ and freshly popped buttered popcorn to see if our favorites win. And once again this year we will realize that we haven't seen most of the movies nominated. Yet, we will still enjoy the best and worst dressed Hollywood stars and somehow route for a favorite in the big four categories, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress.

The Best Picture category has nine nominees and sadly I haven't seen a single one of them but I think I have narrowed it down to two films. My choices are Moonlight or Manchester by the Sea. Which explains why my best actor pick is Casey Affleck, he stars in Manchester by the Sea. The Male star of Moonlight Mahershala Ali is nominated in Best Supporting Actor which I don't understand but then again a lot of this process goes over my head.

As for Best Actress I will be routing for Natalie Portman in Jackie. And for Best Director I will select Barry Jenkins for Moonlight. However, Mel Gibson with Hacksaw Ridge could be a Dark Horse. I have literally made these selections from the ads I have seen on TV and the Trailers on the nomination page.

So once you done watch the Daytona 500 on Fox we will see you at the movies on ABC.

The Making of an Oscar.

Fun moments from Oscars' Past.
