Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

This week Christina Boryk, the Executive Director for Rebuilding Together Dutchess County, stopped by our studios to get us caught up with all that has been going on with the organization. They had a successful comedy night, 'Hammers, Nails, Laughs, and Cocktails on Thursday, September 22 at The Grandview (trust me when I say you don't want to miss the next one)

They have the next National Rebuilding Day coming in October. They also have their Handyman program and will be launching two new programs this year. One will be a Fire Safety Program with the Red Cross where they will install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for homeowners and the other is the Light it Up program where solar powered outside motion detecting lights will be installed around homes.

You can find out who their Toolbox heroes are, local tradespeople who help them with their mission of a safe and healthy house for everyone, information about their Handyman program, the NY Grant program ‘Access to Home, as well as applications on their website.

If you need help, or know someone who might, please call them at 845-454-7310.
