Flea markets are great. Some days you leave with nothing, other days you'll leave with gold. You truly never know what you're going to find.

The Hudson Valley is full of wonderful flea markets all year round, like the Stormville Flea Market in Hopewell Junction. Hundreds of people flock to the flea market over the weekend to do some exploring and look for the best deal.

But like I said, you're never know what you are going to find. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is reporting that on September 2nd one of their officers was tipped off to two booths selling protected wildlife parts.

DEC Officer Read located the booths and found that they were selling an alligator feet, jawbones and teeth as well as an alligator head. There were also rattlesnake hides being sold.

The seller told Officer Read that the parts were legal. However, to sell these parts one must have a permit in New York State. The seller was issued three summons for possessing and offering the animal parts for sale without a permit.

The items were removed and the case is now pending with the Town of East Fishkill Court.
