So much for a dusting. The National Weather Service forecasts the Hudson Valley will see more of Winter Storm Jonas than initial projections suggested.

According to a forecast map posted at 3:55AM on Saturday, Dutchess County will see between 2 and 8 inches of snow, with greater accumulation in central and southern Dutchess. Ulster County will see anywhere from a dusting to up to 6 inches in the southern part of the county.

The lower Hudson Valley will be hit much harder. Orange County will see 4 to 12 inches of snow and Putnam County will see from 6 to 12 inches. Parts of Westchester and Rockland counties may see up to 18 inches.

Jonas will bring strong winds to the area, with gusts of up to 30 miles per hour.

Dutchess County is under a winter weather advisory until 1AM on Sunday. Orange and Putnam counties are under a winter storm warning until 7AM on Sunday.
