Taking the kids grocery shopping with you can sometimes be a hassle. I know for me, every time we go to the grocery store one or both of my kids have to use the bathroom or even worse they are hungry and have to have something to eat ASAP.

If you grocery shop at ShopRite and have a hungry kid with you, they have started to roll a FREE fruit program that will be really helpful for parents like us.

According to PIX 11, ShopRite has announced that they are now offering free fruit to kids 12 and under at dozens of locations in New York. The free fruit program is being launched to encourage children to enjoy healthy snacks like apples, oranges, bananas and more.

The president of ShopRite, Brett Wing told PIX 11 that “We take great pride in our commitment to providing health and wellness education, encouragement and inspiration within the community, along with the importance of teaching the value of good nutrition habits at an early age, this program is a fun way to educate kids about healthy eating habits.”

To be a part of the free fruit program, have your kids get a ‘Kids Club Card’ at ShopRite courtesy desks and when they would like to grab a piece of fruit they just need to show the card in the store produce department.
