A Hudson Valley mother’s credit card was stolen, the alleged suspect is her son.

Recently deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a larceny complaint and Route 6 in the Town of Carmel. Responding officers were told by the victim that she believed her son stole her credit card.

Police say they quickly located the alleged stolen credit card in the victim’s son’s bedroom. 23-year-old Ryan T. McKeown was found by police at the home and he told officers that he did take the credit card.

McKeown was charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, a felony. He was arraigned in Town of Patterson Court and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. He’s due in Town of Carmel Justice Court on a later date.

If found guilty of the felony charge McKeown faces up to four years in prison.
