Police officers from the upper Hudson Valley saved a local dog's life by braving freezing cold water.

On Wednesday, Margot Sheridan wrote on Facebook thanking local police for saving her dog, Rolo, after the dog fell into freezing cold water.

"Cannot thank these gentlemen enough for saving my dog today. Never called 911 in my life until today(and I am old) - they showed up as quick as could be and were willing to cross ice for Rolo. Hugs to you all (including my neighbor Alex). Warm blankets and a quick blow dry and he is all better," Sheridan wrote.

It's unclear how the dog fell into the water.

"Great work GCSO K-9 Deputy Jeff Hoessle- braved the freezing cold water to save this pup!!! Thanks to all that helped Rolo," the Greene County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook while sharing Sheridan's post.
