If you're a fan of the Chicago Fire/PD/Med series you might just see a Hudson Valley native cross your screen.

I love the beginning of September. It's my birthday, summer slowly fades and fall starts to roll in and of course there's TV premiers. We go all summer with fill in shows and new Netflix series, for me The Bachelorette and Stranger Things got me through the summer in one piece, but now I'm ready for some prime time goodness.

Chicago Fire, PD, and Med are a couple of my favorite shows. I absolutely love PD and Med, mostly because they feature two actresses from One Tree Hill and well, that's a classic guilty pleasure of mine.

News broke this week that Dr. Halstead from Chicago Med will see a new love interest this season and (spoiler alert) it's not Dr. Manning. According to Entertainment Weekly, "We'll see more of the character Pathologist Nina Shore playing a part in stealing Halstead's heart."

So how do we connect Chicago Med to the Hudson Valley? Easy. I did some research and was curious who this Nina Shore character is and as it turns out she is played by Patti Murin who happens to be from Hopewell Junction. Murin has been in shows such as Royal Pains and Before We Made It. She also happens to be a regular on Chicago Med, Colin Donnell (Arrow, The Affair).

My heart will always be pulling for Dr. Halstead and Dr. Manning, but if we get the chance to have a Hudson Valley native shine on the screen I'm okay with that too.

Will you be tuning in to the Chicago Med season 2 premiere Sept. 22 (NBC/9pm)?
