The reality of being an adult is a terrifying and strange one. Nobody ever teaches you how to adult, it's something you usually just learn on your own... until now!

Haverstraw King's Daughters Library is now offering a variety of classes to anyone between the ages of 16 and 25 that teach a wide range of tips and tricks for how to survive adult life. Apparently, library staffers were getting frustrated with teens at the library who they say "hadn't mastered basic life skills." When it was clear that they couldn't even butter bread without ripping it, they figured it was time to do something.

Honestly, this is a pretty good idea. Even the smartest student in school can be pretty clueless when it comes to real-life stuff, and I've always thought that a lot of these things should actually be taught in school (well, not the bread-buttering thing, that should be pretty self-explanatory). Sessions so far have been held on basic cooking and job hunting, and it will cover topics like laundry and finances. You can call the library to register at 845-786-3800.
