A Hudson Valley man who was found with around $8,000 worth of heroin was sentenced.

In Sullivan County Court, 35-year-old Christopher Loadholt of Monticello was sentenced to an aggregate prison term of nine to 10 years, for possessing heroin with the intent to sell.

In Sept. 2016, Loadholt and Katie McKnight of Bayonne, N.J., were wanted by police. Both were found at the Best Western Motel on Raceway Road in the Village of Monticello.

While going to arrest the pair, police noticed illegal drug activity in their hotel room. Officers obtained a search warrant which allegedly yielded 52.9 grams of heroin, 1.8 grams of crack cocaine, suboxone, numerous hypodermic instruments, scales, packaging materials and a small quantity of marijuana. Also recovered was approximately $1,200 in cash.

The estimated street value of the recovered heroin, once packaged for sale, is around $8,000, officials say.
