Police say a Hudson Valley man punched a child in the face at a local motel.

After receiving a 911 call on Monday, Saugerties police responded to a domestic dispute report at the Wenton Motel in the Town of Saugerties. After arriving, authorities arrested Levi Brown for punching his 13-year-old stepson in the face and head. The 43-year-old Saugerties man was allegedly in a dispute with the child. Police charged Brown with harassment in the second degree and child endangerment.

After being released from Saugerties Justice Court, Brown allegedly returned to the Wenton Motel, violating a protective order. Police say they responded to another 911 call at the motel and found Brown attempting to break into the room of one of the protected parties.

The Saugerties man was taken into custody again and charged with contempt of a court order in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Brown was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail.
