An alleged Hudson Valley heroin dealer was caught during a traffic stop on Route 9W.

On Wednesday around 11:40 p.m., New York State Police stopped a car on Route 9W in the town of Newburgh for several alleged traffic violations.

While talking with the driver probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established, police say.

During the search, 22-year-old Cody A. Suitter of Accord, a passenger, was found with multiple glassine envelopes containing approximately 4.17 grams of heroin, according to New York State Police.

Suitter was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies. The driver received undisclosed vehicle and traffic violations.

Suitter was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $2,500. bond.
