If you have children in your life, you know how important it is to get them off on the right foot in terms of education. The earlier children can start the process of learning, the better off they will be and the better off our communities will be.

Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive child development programs for children from birth to age 5, pregnant women, and families. These programs focus on preparing children for school. Today, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced more than $2.2 million in federal funding for Head Start of Eastern Orange County, Inc.

This investment will support Early Learning and Head Start programs that provide education and development services for low-income children. Head Start of Eastern Orange County is a non-profit organization and provides education to more than 300 children in the Hudson Valley and employs more than 40 full-time staff.

Their mission is to provide the highest quality programs to meet the health, education, and social supports of children and families so that they can be successful in school and in life. This money will go a long way to help those they serve.
