Is the Hudson Valley the new Brooklyn? That’s what one local real estate broker believes.

Twenty-six homes were recently built on 131 acres in Kerhonkson. The Hudson Woods homes are set along forests and meadows with sweeping mountain views, according to the companies Facebook page.

“Hudson Woods is the first of its kind up here, tailored to a new generation of buyers,” Jeff Serouya, an associate real estate broker at Westwood Metes & Bounds Realty in Ulster County, told the New York Times. “More than half the buyers that come here now are from Brooklyn — or ‘the new Brooklyn,’ I should say.”

In 2013, the Ulster County land was purchased and designed by Drew Lang.

“I kept going back to the Hudson Valley, and especially the Catskills,” Lang told the New York Times. “Because not only is it beautiful, with these natural characteristics, but there was so much pent-up energy in these towns and people doing such interesting things.”

Each home features a modern, eco-friendly design, crafted from locally sourced materials.

The basic model is 2,800 square feet with three bedrooms, two baths, two floors and a garage. Buyers have a number of upgrade options, including an additional bedroom, additional floor or pool.

A home costs around $1 million. As of this writing 24 of the 26 homes have been sold.
