It has been in the works for a long time. New Paltz will have what is referred to as a "Black Box Theatre" by the fall of 2018. According to the man behind the project the first play should hit the stage by October but what happened this week at the Denizen Theatre was just as exciting as the upcoming opening night. The Denizen Theatre's "Green Roof" was installed.

If you are not familiar with the concept this is a roof that is made of plants. Like it early predecessor the Thatch Roof a Green Roof is made of live plants and grasses and is designed to replace the carbon footprint that the building is taking up. In simple terms it puts back the "Green" which the build replaced therefore making it eco friendly and fun at the same time.

The Denizen Theatre located at Water Street Market in New Paltz will bring thought provoking theatre to a town already known for it innovation. The Denizen is in search of local playwrights and actors. Find out more about this exciting new venue online.
