National Volunteer Week is April 15-21, 2018.

In honor of National Volunteer Week, many Hudson Valley charities, groups, and organizations are holding events to get the community involved in volunteering. The Hudson Valley is filled with some amazing non-profit groups, and the best way to celebrate the week is to volunteer in our communities.

Here are some of the organizations and events going on, as found on United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, for National Volunteer Week:

Hudson Valley Seed
They will have two gardening projects to help revitalize Main Street in Poughkeepsie

Dutchess County Regional Chamber Of Commerce
The Hudson Valley Young Professional's Community Outreach is aiming to clean up the middle of Main Street in Poughkeepsie

Food Bank of the Hudson Valley
Volunteers at Macy's in Middletown will be sorting donations

Grace Smith House
They will create hygiene kits with supplies from Our Lady Of Lourdes lacrosse team

Safe Harbors Of The Hudson
Volunteers will help clean up Newburgh

There are plenty of other volunteer events going on in the Hudson Valley region to celebrate National Volunteer Week. Whether you help with one of these or something else, I hope you get out and volunteer in our community.
