Hunger is a big problem in America and the Hudson Valley is no exception. However, the great thing about living here is that most embrace neighbor helping neighbor. This weekend, while most will be enjoying the fall foliage, there are some in our community that will be working hard to combat hunger in our area. Here are a few things you can get involved with if you want.

 

Taking place this Friday at 5:30 p.m. is the Second Annual Taste Against Hunger hosted by Dutchess Outreach and held at the Aula at Vassar College. This evening is a silent auction benefit that includes food and drinks from different Hudson Valley restaurants and bars.There also be live music. To get tickets head to eventbrite.com.

 

Also happening this Friday is the Dance Against Hunger taking place at 44 Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie kicking off at 9 p.m. This dance party is all to raise money for a good cause. Happening on Sunday is Dutchess County Crop Walk. This event kicks off at 11 a.m. at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on 55 Wilbur Boulevard in Poughkeepsie. This walk around the city of Poughkeepsie includes a 10K with 25% of all the monies raised staying here in Dutchess County. This walk also goes to fight hunger globally.
