Hardee's is out, but the next best thing will be taking it's place.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the location will become a Carl's Jr. on Friday.

That's right, the two most confusing burger chains are confusing us even more by swapping out the Route 9 location.

So what's the deal? Why the switch?

Damned if we know, but although the two fast food restaurants are owned by the same company and share many of the same menu items, they are two different restaurants. According to those in the know, Hardee's seems to have more breakfast options while Carl's Jr. has a wider variety of burgers. Perhaps the restaurant's proximity to the breakfast juggernaut that is Dunkin' Donuts has something to do with the swap?

Carl's Jr. will introduce new chicken sandwiches and a bacon cheeseburger when they officially come to the area at the end of the week. They're also expected to focus their new menu on more lunch and dinner items.

The same staff and management will operate the new restaurant.
