If you live in Sullivan County and you love theater, or music, dance, history, architecture, folklore, installation pieces, visual arts, or other cultural activities, here's some good news.

According to the Times Herald Record, there are grant monies available, made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts, and administered locally by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Arts Council of Sullivan County. The grants are for nonprofit arts organizations and municipalities that wish to create, produce, or present cultural programming in Sullivan County in 2016.

Here's just one of the many programs that have been funded by the New York State Council on the Arts and distributed by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.

While writing grants can be quite daunting, the Times Herald Record is reporting that the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance will be offering several grant writing seminars. You'll learn effective grant writing, creating a budget, generating ideas and networking with other artists and organizations. While the seminars are free, registration is required.  If this your first time applying for a grant, attendance is mandatory.

Click here for more information about the seminars and to register, please call  DVAA Grants Coordinator Mary Greene at 252-7576.
